In celebration of the opening of Club Mareva Beirut in December 2020, Casdagli Cigars launched a limited-edition cigar – the Origins Exclusive Lebanon.

It is the first club cigar of Club Mareva Beirut. The chosen blend and vitola Toro (56 x 6) was selected by Woody Ghsoubi and Najat Abdo, the founders of Club Mareva Beirut.

Origin: Dominican Republic

Wrapper: Ecuador Corojo – We have chosen the Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper because it is in our opinion the best Havana seed in terms of taste on the lips and it blends well with other tobaccos, its adds a nice milky chocolate taste and rounds the cigar very nicely.

It also changes the taste of the cigar in many ways, about 40% on our specific blend.

Binder: Dominican Republic Cotui – From Monika Kelner’s farms, combined with the wrapper, it has a lot of synergy aromas and exceptional taste on the palate.

Filler: Dominican Republic Kelner Family Reserve – taken Hendrik Kelner’s own father’s farm, Master Blender Henkie. Located in the Monte Plata / Yamasa region near Cotui, 20 km to the south. It is famous for its reddish soil, more minerals, more iron and acidity level is low (PH) – conditions are very similar to Cuba’s Pnar De Rio. Exceptional taste, burns slowly.

Dominican San Vincente – an amazing base for any blend, adds a little of acidity, keeps mouth wet and salivates however less dominant than others.

Dominican Cotui Ligero – this leaf gives power, spices and tobacco taste, dark coffee, not overempowering but has the punch. We use a half leaf.

Peruvian Pelo D’Oro – Running out, no where to be found, a very interesting tobacco, it you smokie it by yourself, you won’t like it. Floral, sweet flavors, blends really well with other tobaccos, unique taste only from Pelo D’Oro. We also use a half leaf in our blend.

Vitola: Toro 56 x 152 / 56 x 6″

Limited release: 2,500 cigars

On January 2nd 2021, we had our first tasting of the Origins cigars with our closest friends and customers. The cigar performed really well among some of the most discerning palates. The blend was chosen to be of medium strength (nicotine level) however full of complexity, flavors or full body in other words.

Origins Exclusive Lebanon is a limited edition cigar, launched in collaboration with Casdagli Cigars.

The cedar tree that adorns the Origins cigar box is a sacred symbol of Lebanon but also represents the deep roots. Najat Abdo and Woody Ghsoubi, the founders of Club Mareva Beirut have developed with Jeremy Casdagli of Casdagli Cigars and Marko Bilić, the founder of Cigar Club Mareva and the International Cigar Smoking World Championship.

The chosen blend and vitola Toro was personally selected by Najat and Woody on their visit to the Kelner Boutique Factory in February 2018.

All the leaves have been sourced, selected and aged by the famous Master Blender Hendrik Kelner Jr.

Each of the 250 boxes, containing 10 cigars, are numbered and bear the signatures of Najat Abdo and Woody Ghsoubi, the founders of Club Mareva Beirut.
